abstract painting

There are a couple of ways to proceed, but one thing to remember is that there is no absolute correct way to create an abstract paintings, you have to find what works best for you. Some people like to have an object in mind and then abstract it by imagining the object as a blur and then painting the shapes and colors that stand out. Other people like to listen to music that reflect their feelings and then let the beat, tempo and rhythm dictate the speed that they paint, the colors that they use, and how they apply it to the canvas. With an abstract painting, you can also vary how you apply the paint to the canvas. You don’t have to just brush it on. You can do what is known as “action painting”, this is when the paint is spontaneously applied to canvas using such methods as dribbling, splashing, and smearing. You can also use other items besides just a paint brush to apply the paint.

Upon drawing a picture of the desired flowers on the canvas, the painter needs to use a paintbrush that is sized smaller than the area that he or she is painting. The tip needs to be placed into the pink paint, and any excess paint should be rubbed off the brush’s sides. Outside of the stems and pollen areas, the entire flower needs to be painted in this pink color. For the pollen areas and stems of the flowers, shading and adding light would occur in the same manner as it would for the flowers’ petals. A base color, most likely green, would be used. Dark and light variations of the base color would then be added to the painting, as would the yellow light source.

In conclusion, there are a number of steps involved with creating beautiful acrylic flower paintings. A color or colors needs to be chosen for the flowers; the flowers need to be drawn on a canvas; the flowers’ petals have to be painted in; shadow and light effects must be added to the picture; the stems and pollen need to be painted in; and the picture is then completed. Many artists use different ways to start as they begin based on what is in their imagination or how they are feeling at that moment. For beginners it can be good to focus on a specific object.

Once you have decided on an object then you need to think about it and distort it or look at it in an abstract way. So you may make that object blur, or twist a section of it. Think of two of those objects colliding together. You can also use music to help alter the object. It is the rhythm of music that helps many people. Many times when listening to loud music painters tend to create loud and bright works. Slower music will produce artwork that is more somber and dull.

For those just starting you want to make sure you have all the materials you need on hand. Stop in at a local art store and pick up a canvas, paint brushes and some paint. If you are interested in doing this for a while then invest in some good brushes as there are very important. You can get any paint that you want; a full pallet of color or maybe just focus on different shades of green.

The canvas you paint on is up to you as you can paint on paper, canvas or primed paper. Canvas can be very expensive so for those just starting paper is recommended. Remember that with original abstract paintings there are no rules so you cannot make a mistake. You do not need a plan to start painting you can just go. Real abstract art occurs when you are not thinking at all but your painting takes over.
